Join a Naturalist for a guided snowshoe tour in the San Bernardino National Forest. You will learn how to snowshoe, go for a guided trek through the forest, learn about how plants and animals adapt in winter and have some exploration time as well! Snowshoes, trekking poles, snack and water are included. Please wear warm clothing layers and waterproof boots or shoes. Tours are dependent on snow conditions. Participants meet at the public parking lot on Knickerbocker/Pennsylvania across from Big Bear Elementary School (on Knickerbocker Rd. south of Big Bear

Discovery Center Nature Hikes

The Big Bear Discovery Center will be hosting nature walks every weekend in January! Please Note the Discovery Center is currently closed for renovations and is operating from the Big Bear Visitors Center. Meet the volunteer at the trailhead noted on the schedule. Volunteers can be identified by their green shirts. No registration is required and guided hikes are free. In the event of inclement weather, the hike will be canceled. Hikers are advised to wear layers in the winter months and good hiking boots. Be sure to bring water
