Immersed in a scenic backdrop of glittering lakes, peaceful swathes of forests, and mountain peaks that pierce the horizon, Big Bear is the perfect vacation destination for getting in touch with the blissful spirit of childhood fun and pure joy outdoors, especially by riding the town’s most awesome alpine water slide!
Situated along Big Bear Lake’s Magic Mountain area, the Alpine Water Slide in Big Bear is the summertime sister ride to Big Bear’s famous Alpine Slide. While the Alpine Slide provides locals and visitors with an authentic mountain bobsled experience during the winter, the Alpine Water Slide takes over for water-soaked fun during the warmer parts of the year. It’s an exhilarating, family-friendly ride that will help you and your guests cool off after long hours spent in the cheerful California sunshine!
Information on This Fun-Filled Local Attraction
Consisting of a double Big Bear water slide that follows the mountain terrain’s twists and turns, the Alpine Water Slide culminates with riders splashing into a three and a half-foot deep heated pool. It’s simultaneously refreshing and comfortable, with the heated pool keeping you from feeling too chilly in the fresh mountain breezes. After your ride, you can lounge in the sun on the poolside deck.
Children must meet the minimum height requirement of 30 inches or taller in order to ride on the Alpine Water Slide. Life jackets are provided for safety, and double-riding is forbidden.
Rates for riding the water slide begin at $2 for a single ride. Ten-ride booklets are available for $10, while unlimited day passes are priced at $15.
Of course, if you plan on riding the Alpine Water Slide more often during your time in Big Bear or if you plan on coming back for another vacation during the sliding season—which begins on Memorial Day weekend and lasts all summer long—buying a season pass may be more cost-effective. Season passes for Sunday through Friday (excluding July 4th) each week of the season cost $49, while season passes for riding the slide anytime cost $69.
