Full Day Farm Camp:

Horse Day Camp is a fun all-things-horse program designed for beginners or intermediate campers. This program will take campers through classroom, tack rooms, stalls, barns, arenas, pastures and trails. Campers are evaluated and divided into groups by the instructors. All will participate in fun activities that include learning the basics (terminology, different styles of tack/riding), developing safe habits and learning emergency procedures, practicing riding through transitions in the arena, and exploring our trails on horseback. In addition to horse related activities the full day farm camp includes games, arts and crafts, horse painting, animal bathing, hiking the national forest, and basic farm animal care.

Beginner Camp

Campers will learn basic riding fundamentals: going forward, turning the horse, stopping, mounting and dismounting, the beginnings of the biodynamic balanced seat that must be developed to successfully ride horses. Beginners are any camper who has ridden less than 10 times in the past two years. No matter what riding group each camper is assigned, each camper will be given a certificate of completion of skills at the end of camp.

Intermediate Camp

Campers continue to improve their riding skills with much more independence in the open meadow they are able to demonstrate the knowledge and confidence needed to safely control their horse independently. Intermediate campers may currently take lessons, and know basic safety, grooming, and may also know how to saddle their horse on their own. All activities will be supervised. No matter what riding group each camper is assigned, each camper will be given a certificate of completion of skills at the end of camp.
