Castle Rock Trail
The pinnacle of Castle Rock Trail has some of the best views around of Big Bear Lake, and is a wonderfully romantic and peaceful place to have a picnic in nature with your loved one. The 2.7-mile trail through the graceful alpine forest is peppered with intriguing rock formations, and if you can find a few romantic forest glens just off the side of the trail. The trailhead is located off State Highway 18 one mile east of Big Bear Dam.
Boulder Bay Park
Boulder Bay Park is without question one of the prettiest parks on Big Bear Lake. Beautiful rock formations abound, and within the bay are several picturesque islands made of smooth boulders. With its gentle sparkling waters and pine-forested shoreline, Boulder Bay Park makes for a very romantic picnicking spot; it’s also a great place for snow play in the winter.
