Big Bear’s Biggest Summer Weekends Are Here — Don’t Miss a Moment

July 2026  ·  Big Bear Vacations  ·  7 min read

July in Big Bear doesn’t slow down — it explodes. This summer, the mountain is home to some of the most exciting weekends we’ve seen in years: a moto dual sport rally, a mountaintop dinner series, tributes to two legendary rock bands, and the USA Cycling National Championship powered by Monster Energy. Here’s your insider guide to everything happening and why you need to be here for all of it.

Big Bear Moto (Classic Rock) Dual Sport Weekend — July 18–19

Big Bear Moto Dual Sport Weekend

July 18–19, 2026 · Big Bear Convention Center · All Skill Levels

Where the Mountains Meet the Moto Life

If you’ve ever wanted to experience Big Bear from the seat of a motorcycle — winding through high desert roads, climbing through pine-lined switchbacks, and carving across the valley with 7,000 feet of mountain air surrounding you — the Big Bear Moto (Classic Rock) Dual Sport Weekend is your moment.

Hosted by the Big Bear Trail Riders, this two-day event brings together riders of all skill levels for a guided Dual Sport motorcycle and Adventure Bike tour through some of the most spectacular terrain in Southern California. Saturday features both an easy loop and a hard loop, so whether you’re a seasoned enduro veteran or just getting your adventure legs, there’s a route built for you. Riders who complete the hard loop earn a finisher plaque — a memento from one of the most memorable rides you’ll ever do.

But the Moto Weekend is more than just riding. Saturday night ends with a banquet at the Convention Center — good food, cold drinks, fellow riders sharing stories from the trail, and the kind of camaraderie that only exists in the moto community. Vendor row, RV parking, and a full weekend in the mountains make this one of Big Bear’s most unique summer events.

Skyline at Sundown — Select Dates Through September 12

Skyline at Sundown Snow Summit

The Most Unforgettable Dinner in Southern California

Close your eyes for a second. It’s 6PM on a Friday. You step onto a chairlift at Snow Summit and begin to rise above the tree line. As you climb, the valley spreads out below you — Big Bear Lake shimmering in the golden hour light, the San Bernardino Mountains stretching as far as the eye can see, the pine forest silent except for the sound of the breeze. By the time you reach 8,200 feet, the sun has begun its descent and the sky has turned every shade of orange, pink, and purple imaginable.

That’s where your dinner is waiting.

Skyline at Sundown is Snow Summit’s mountaintop BBQ dinner experience — and it is, without question, one of the most unique dining experiences in all of Southern California. Sit down to an incredible BBQ spread at the top of the mountain, surrounded by towering pines and those unbelievable views, with someone you love. No city noise. No traffic. No distractions. Just the mountain, the food, and a sky full of stars starting to appear above you.

It’s the perfect date night. The perfect anniversary dinner. The perfect way to show someone what Big Bear really feels like when you slow down and take it all in. Available on select evenings through September 12 — spots fill quickly, so reserve yours before it’s gone.

Music in the Mountains — Eagles & Boston Tributes — July 25

Music in the Mountains Big Bear

Saturday, July 25 · Big Bear Discovery Center · Gates 5PM · Show 6:30PM

Take It to the Limit — Under the Big Bear Stars

There are concerts, and then there are experiences you remember for the rest of your life. Music in the Mountains at the Big Bear Discovery Center Amphitheater falls firmly in the second category.

Picture this: you’re sitting on the grass or in your reserved seat as the sun drops behind the San Bernardino Mountains. The air is cool and pine-scented. And then the opening notes of “More Than a Feeling” start to fill the amphitheater — performed live by Journeymen, one of the most celebrated Boston tribute acts in the country. The crowd erupts. The summer night officially begins.

Then TLR takes the stage, delivering the timeless Eagles catalog with the kind of precision and soul that makes you forget, even just for a few moments, that these aren’t the original Eagles themselves. Hotel California. Peaceful Easy Feeling. Desperado. Life in the Fast Lane. Every song lands like a memory — one you’ve heard a thousand times but that somehow hits differently up here, at 7,000 feet, under a million stars.

This is what Music in the Mountains is about. It’s not just a concert. It’s the feeling of being somewhere magical with people you love, hearing music that defined generations, in one of the most beautiful natural amphitheaters California has to offer. General Admission is $39. Premium Seating is $59. A free shuttle runs from Meadows Edge Picnic Area from 5PM to 10PM.

Monster Energy Pro Downhill Series — July 24–26

Monster Energy Pro Downhill Big Bear

July 24–26, 2026 · Summit Bike Park, Snow Summit · Free to Spectate

The Fastest Riders in the Country Are Coming to Big Bear

If you’ve never watched a professional downhill mountain bike race in person, let us be the first to tell you: it is one of the most viscerally thrilling sporting experiences you can have. And this July 24–26, the best downhill riders in the United States are coming to Snow Summit’s Summit Bike Park for Round 4 of the Monster Energy Pro Downhill Series — which also doubles as the USA Cycling National Championship.

We’re talking elite pro and amateur riders launching off the top of Snow Summit, bombing down the famous 10-Ply double black diamond trail at speeds that seem physically impossible. The course winds through the trees, over rock gardens, and off jumps — all at race pace. From the roar of the crowd at the start house to the screaming finish line below, every second of racing is pure adrenaline.

The best part? Spectating is completely free. Take the Scenic Sky Chair to the top for a bird’s-eye view of the start and upper course, or post up near the finish line for the full race-day atmosphere. Monster Energy activations, vendor booths, and the electric energy of a national championship event make this a full weekend experience — not just a race.

Book your cabin with code MONSTER26 for this weekend and save on your stay. This is one of those events that Big Bear locals talk about all year. Don’t miss it.

Free to spectate · Sky Chair access recommended for upper course views · Use code MONSTER26 for cabin savings
