Alpine Experience in Your Big Bear Cabins With Hot Tub
A Big Bear cabins with hot tub is usually synonymous with spas, resorts, and 5-star hotels. Yet our cabins guarantee you the full alpine experience. Think rustic complete with wood beams, groove ceilings, and a wood fireplace. Granted not all our cabins are like that. Some of our cabins are more rustic than others, but all are more isolated than hotel rentals and regularly cleaned!
While some have their own outdoor spa, charcoal BBQ, and relaxing deck, others strive for the mystic and romantic atmosphere that are usually associated with mountain cabins. A big knotty pine cupboard in your kitchen will take you out of California and throw you back in the middle of the 19th century where hard men lived on their wits, determination, and steely wills.
Planning Your Stay
Big Bear Lake is a popular vacation destination year-round. During the summer, the lake is Big Bear’s main attraction. Spend your days relaxing on the beach, fishing on the lake, or paddling through the water on a kayak.
You can swim anywhere along Big Bear Lake at your own risk, and swimmers are required to stay within 50 feet of the shoreline. There are, however, several established beaches with lifeguards. Meadow Park is one of the most popular beaches on Big Bear Lake. The sandy beach has lifeguards, a playground, picnic pavilions, a snack stand, and public restrooms making it popular among families and larger groups. There are also several inflatable toys and slides on the water.
Garstin Island, or China Island, is another popular swimming spot. Also has been dubbed the best place to swim on Big Bear Lake for several years. The island is a small island made of granite boulders just a few yards off the shore of the lake, and there are several huts on the island that were occupied by Chinese immigrants who helped build the dam over 100 years ago. You can easily swim to the island from the shore and there are several spots where you can jump off the rocks into the water. Just make sure to check the water ahead of time to ensure that the water is deep enough and that there are no submerged rocks.
Summer Getaway
During the summer, the daytime highs in Big Bear Lake are in the low 80s, but at night temperatures can drop to the 50s. Head back to your cabin as the temperatures start to drop and start up the jets in your private hot tub. You can relax in the warm water while you look up at Big Bear’s expansive, star-filled sky.
In the winter, Big Bear is popular among skiers and snowboarders. The area has two ski resorts: Bear Mountain and Snow Summit. Both resorts are family-friendly. They are also known for their hundreds of acres of skiable terrain. It does not matter if you are learning how to ski or are a professional. Both resorts have plenty of runs for all skill levels. After a day of hitting the slopes, warm up, relax your muscles in your private hot tub and look out over the snow-covered beauty of Big Bear Lake.
