As an American I always feel just a little bit more patriotic than usual during this time of year. I mean, it’s our Independence Day! I am grateful to be free and I appreciate the freedoms that I have. Last year was my first Fourth of July in Big Bear Lake and it was awesome!
I had only lived here about four weeks last year when the fourth of July rolled around – some of my newfound friends invited me to go out on their boat to watch the fireworks. I was skeptical; small town, small fireworks. Boy was I wrong. The firework display is one of the best I’ve ever seen – and I’ve seen quite a few.
The music was great, the company was fantastic and fireworks were incredible!

Above the Boom
Snow Summit always puts on an unforgettable Fourth of July celebration, and this year’s event is no exception. Above the Boom takes Independence Day to new heights with a scenic Sky Chair ride to the top of Snow Summit, where you’ll watch the Big Bear Fireworks Spectacular from 8,200 feet above sea level. The evening also includes live entertainment, food and drinks, and family-friendly activities, making it one of the most unique ways to celebrate the holiday in Big Bear. Independence Day Faire
Kick off your Fourth of July celebration at the Big Bear Convention Center from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. This free, family-friendly event features a vendor market, Kids Fun Zone, live entertainment, delicious food, and a festive atmosphere under the pines before the evening fireworks.
Movies Under the Moon (July 3)
Start your holiday weekend with an outdoor movie night at The Moonridge Room. Join the community dodgeball game at 7:00 PM, then settle in for a showing of Dodgeball at dusk. Bring a chair or blanket, and enjoy food and drinks available for purchase during this family-friendly evening under the stars.
Hotel Marina Riviera Fourth of July Celebration
Enjoy an unforgettable lakeside Independence Day celebration at Hotel Marina Riviera. Choose between a lakefront deck experience or a beachfront picnic package featuring De La Nonna pizzas, Caesar salad, soft serve, and your choice of wine, beer, or a non-alcoholic aperitif.
