Visit Veteran’s Park– Big Bear’s Veterans Park offers a beautiful space to memorialize our veterans and pay your respects as you reflect by the lakeside. A cooperative effort between the Big Bear Lake Rotary Club, the Veterans Alliance, First Mountain Bank and the City of Big Bear Lake, this scenic park features a large bandstand and benches where the public can sit, relax, and reflect among the pines. Veterans Park is located in the heart of the Village at the intersection of Big Bear Boulevard and Knickerbocker Road.
Attend the Annual Memorial Day Ceremony– The American Legion Post 584 and City of Big Bear Lake collaborate together each year at the local Veterans Park for a meaningful event to honor our fallen heroes. Typically held on Memorial Day Monday the ceremony usually starts in the morning and lasts up to two hours. Celebrate together and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.
Grill & Chill During Memorial Day in Big Bear
Hosted at the Bartlett Event Arena in Big Bear Village, the Memorial Day Grill and Chill Festival is a no-cost two day event that invites guests to come enjoy some fun competition alongside food, drinks, and games! Open to runners of all ages and abilities, the Memorial Day Weekend 5k race is a scenic and challenging run to commemorate Memorial Day and is a wonderful way to celebrate the holiday while staying active alongside friends and family.
