Kick off the holiday with the Big Bear Turkey Trot! This family-friendly 3-mile fun run (or walk) welcomes participants of all ages. The course winds along a paved route through the pines, and strollers are welcome. Start Thanksgiving morning with fresh mountain air and a whole lot of community spirit.

The race starts at 9:30 AM at Dank Donuts & Event Venue, 42612 Moonridge Rd. Parking is available at the venue. The event benefits Open Air Big Bear, a non-profit that advances outdoor, people-powered events and activities in Big Bear Valley.

Early bird pricing is $40 for adults and $25 for youth under 18. Children under 5 run free, with a signed waiver. Locals save $5 with ID at packet pickup. Prices go up after November 24, 2026, at 11:59 PM PST, so register early.

Paid entries include race timing and eligibility for age group awards. There are also prizes in the costume contest, so dress up and get creative. Awards go to the top three male and female finishers overall. The top three runners in each age group earn prizes too. Divisions run from 12 and under through 70 and over.

Packet Pickup

Pick up your packet at The Yellow Post, 546 Pine Knot Blvd. It’s open Monday through Wednesday, November 23 to 25, from 4 to 7 PM. You can also pick it up on race morning at Dank Donuts, from 8 to 9 AM. Remember to bring your ID if you want the local discount.

Rain, shine, or snow, it’s all part of the fun. Please note that refunds aren’t available.
