The Countin’ Carp Tournament is back for the entire summer season! Big Bear Municipal Water District invites anglers of all ages to take part in this exciting carp reaping event that helps control Big Bear Lake’s invasive carp population. Now spanning the full summer from May 1st through August 31st, 2026, there are more opportunities than ever to fish, compete, and win big prizes while helping keep Big Bear Lake happy and healthy!

No registration required — simply bring your catch to BBMWD at 40524 Lakeview Dr to give your name and start your season tally. Fish must be counted by a District Employee on the same day they are caught. Anglers may use a bow and arrow by boat or on shore, or a rod and reel.

🏆 Most Carp Caught — Tournament Prizes:

Adult Division:

• 1st Place — $1,000
• 2nd Place — $750
• 3rd Place — $500
• 4th Place — $250
• 5th Place — $100

Youth Division (Under 16):

• 1st Place — $500
• 2nd Place — $375
• 3rd Place — $250
• 4th Place — $125
• 5th Place — $50

🎟️ Monthly Raffle: Receive one raffle ticket per day when you bring carp to be counted. Monthly winners in Adult and Youth Divisions receive a $150 Gift Card or Cash Prize. Raffle Day is the first business day following the end of each month!

Important Rules:

• All entrants must abide by California Dept. of Fish & Wildlife laws and regulations
• Fish must be counted by a District Employee on the same day caught
• One raffle ticket per day — not per fish
• No sharing of fish between hunters — violators will be disqualified
• No shooting within 50 feet of another competing hunter
• No littering — violators will be disqualified
• District employees and family are not eligible to participate
