The 2026 Green Thumbs Restoration Volunteer Season is here and Big Bear needs you! Join us on select Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM to make a direct and meaningful impact through hands-on conservation work in the beautiful San Bernardino National Forest.
Green Thumbs Forest Restoration Volunteers collect native seed, plant native trees and plants, support Forest Service nurseries, weed and water restoration sites, and help clean up trash and graffiti throughout the Big Bear valley. Every project plays a vital role in restoring habitat, strengthening forest resilience, and protecting the stunning landscapes we all love in Big Bear.
Whether you are new to volunteering or a returning steward of the land, this is your chance to give back, get your hands in the soil, and become part of a community committed to conservation right here in Big Bear Lake. Special volunteer dates include Earth Day on April 25th, National Forest Week June 3-5, National Public Lands Day on September 26th, and many more throughout the year!
