Halloween lands on a Saturday this year, and Big Bear goes all in — trick-or-treating in the Village, costumes at the zoo, pumpkin-smashing ziplines, and a full-blown fall festival at the ranch. Here’s what to put on your list.

Saturday, October 31 · 4:00pm – 7:00pm

A family-friendly Halloween evening in The Village, presented by the City of Big Bear Lake. Costumed trick-or-treaters of all ages can hit the shops from 4 to 7 PM, well-behaved dogs can compete in the dog costume contest at 4 PM at Oliver’s Emporium, and a free concert from 6 to 7:30 PM wraps up the night. Nearby restaurants and shops offer snacks and warm drinks — dress warmly and arrive early to find parking.

Boo at the Zoo

Saturday, October 31 · 10:00am – 3:00pm

Kids and adults can dress up in their favorite costumes, trick-or-treat, and meet the animals at the Big Bear Alpine Zoo. General admission covers Boo at the Zoo, so there’s no separate ticket for the event. Choose quiet costumes — loud noises can startle the animals — and bring a bag or bucket for treats.

Pumpkin Smash Zipline Tour

Action Zipline Tours turns the forest into a Halloween adventure with nine zipline runs, a suspension bridge crossing, and a pumpkin-smash target game included in the regular Saturday ticket price — hit the target and win an Action Zipline Tours prize. Pumpkin Patch Fall Festival

Starlight Equestrian Ranch in Big Bear City is packed with fall fun: pumpkin picking and painting, a hay maze, a petting zoo, horseback riding, pony and unicorn rides for younger children, a mechanical bull, local vendors, food and treats, and plenty of photo spots. Big Bear Lake Oktoberfest Is Still Going

Oktoberfest is in session on Friday, October 30 and Sunday, November 1 of Halloween weekend, so you can pair your costumes with steins, German food, and live Oompah bands. There is no Oktoberfest session on Halloween Saturday.
