Why Extended Stay?
There could be many reasons you have need for an extended stay Big Bear vacation rental: a temporary work assignment, you’re moving into the area but haven’t found a home to purchase yet, you’re moving OUT of the area, but your home sold before it was time to leave, or you could simply want to spend more time in our beautiful state. All the reasons listed are valid ones, which is why we offer special deals on stays that last more than 30 days on all our vacation rentals.
Spend Your Time Enjoying the Great Outdoors
Big Bear Lake is known for its outdoor activities year-round, with an average of 286 days of sunshine each year. Whether you are staying during the summer, winter, fall, or spring, you can spend each day on the lake or enjoying the area’s surrounding woods.
Big Bear Lake is known for having two ski resorts, Bear Mountain Ski Resort and Snow Summit. The Bear Mountain Ski Resort has nearly 750 acres of skiable terrain making it one of the most popular resorts in Southern California. It is also Southern California’s only resort with a super halfpipe and its state-of-the-art snowmaking machine provides the perfect snow for skiing and snowboarding all winter.
The resort provides plenty of trails for both world-class athletes and beginners. If you are just starting out, Bear Mountain is home to the largest learning area in SoCal. The 6,000-square-foot learning center has ski rentals, bunny slopes, and professionally certified ski instructors to help you get ready for the slopes. Bear Mountain is especially popular among snowboarders because it has more than 100 rails, jibs, boxes, and walls to practice tricks on.
Big Bear Lake is also home to Snow Summit Resort. With over 27 trails and 240 acres of skiable terrain, the resort is popular among both skiers and snowboarders. The resort is known for its Family Park. The family park is a great place to learn tricks with jumps, bumps, and rollers to practice your skills.
With nearly zero days of rain during the summer and temperatures that hover around 80 degrees Fahrenheit, summers in Big Bear are best spent on the lake. Relax on the shore of the lake and go for a swim or explore the waters on a canopy-covered pontoon. If you enjoy active water sports, you can rent a standup paddleboard, kayak, canoe, or wakeboard. There is also a waterpark on the lake. Tarzan Boat is a floating waterpark with a 6-foot and 12-foot platform to jump off of, two Olympic grade trampolines that you can jump off on into the water, a water slide, and a rope swing.
Fall and Spring Stay
While the temperatures may not be warm enough to swim during the fall and spring the area around the lake has miles of hiking trails with amazing views of the lake and surrounding mountains.
The Pacific Crest Trail, which stretches from Mexico to Canada, passes through Big Bear Lake. The Big Bear portion of the trail is a moderate hike with stunning views of the turquoise waters of Big Bear Lake.
The Choices are Endless
With almost 400 properties to choose from, finding the one that fits should be an easy task. It may take a little investment of time, but should still be easy all the same. From cozy cabins with rustic interiors full of character to brand new stand-alone homes perfect for large families, to condos on the slopes or with views of the lake, your choices are only limited by the size of your budget.
Because if you aren’t moving forward you are moving backward in the vacation rental business, new properties are continually being offered, and our newly constructed homes we are offering are particularly exciting right now.
Constructed of wood and stone and offering 4 bedrooms, Hidden Hillcrest Gem is the best example from our fleet of Big Bear extended stay vacation rentals of charming mix of the old and the new. Wood floors lead the way to a kitchen designed for family; tile countertops, warm wood cabinets, and a breakfast bar faced with reclaimed wood feels makes family meal prep fun and comfortable. The living area features a mixture of the modern—a plush velvet sectional couch and glass and metal framed coffee table—and the rustic—a stone fireplace keeps you warm on chilly nights, while a carved wooden bear keeps those sleeping on the sofa sleeper company on long nights. A master bedroom with a primitive wood bed is serene and tranquil, while bathrooms with walk-in showers or shower-tub combinations are spacious and spa-like; the beauty of this home is in its simplicity.
You don’t need glitz and glamour to impress, just a solid family home with a few wonderful extras! State of the art electronics, free Wi-Fi, a telescope for watching the stars at night—oh, and did we mention the hot tub on the porch? There’s no greater luxury than sitting in hot and bubbling water on a cool night, watching the stars twinkle brightly as the steam from the hot tub slowly drifts up to join them.
