Before winter comes to a close and lends way to spring, Bear Mountain Resort comes to life in the name of downhill adventure. March 9, 2019, marks the annual United States Adaptive Recreation Center (USARC) Ski-A-Thon in Bear Mountain, California. Proceeds from this exciting winter event go towards supporting the missing of the USARC to purchase adaptive ski equipment as well as covering the cost of training staff and volunteers who make adaptive ski lessons possible! The USARC is dedicated to providing adults and children with special needs and disabilities with opportunities on the slopes that open up their potential and help them develop confidence. The Ski-A-Thon is a fun way for participants to give time and effort towards this important and worthy cause.
Skiers and snowboarders are encouraged to sign up for this worthwhile and fun cause. Participants are invited to sign up as individual racers or in competitive teams of four. Online registration is available for individual participants with an entrance fee of $150 and $500 for teams of four. Those who choose to register onsite the day of the event will pay an entrance fee of $200 with teams of four registering for $600. Those who are interested in making a donation to the event without directly participating are encouraged to leave their much-appreciated contribution online. Similarly, guests are invited to sponsor a participant if they so desire.
While participants will enjoy an amazing day of skiing for a great cause, there are added benefits to every registration. The cost of entry includes a customized Ski-A-Thon shirt, full-day Bear Mountain access ticket, raffle tickets, auction access and entrance to live entertainment! When it comes to food, entering the Ski-A-Thon delivers big. Participants will indulge in a provided lunch, participant party and refreshments as well as endless hors d’oeuvres sure to please the palate. Participants will want to put those raffle tickets to good use as grand prizes include everything from gift cards, ski gear, resort lodging and beyond.
