Just minutes away from both the Bear Mountain Ski Resort and the Snow Summit Ski Resort, they are the perfect choice for a weekend full of skiing fun! These sister resorts offer all you could ask for in terms of winter fun.
If you are new to skiing or bringing the kids along on your trip, Bear Mountain is likely the better choice. Here you’ll find the largest learning area in Southern California, so there is plenty of space to get used to your skis before you hit the slopes. Nearly 30% of their trails are rated for beginners or low intermediates. For first timers, Bear Mountain also offers lessons and rentals. However, that doesn’t mean that there aren’t trails that will challenge the ski experts! Here you’ll find Southern California’s only half pipes, The Red Bull, The Scene. These half pipes offer awesome thrills for both skiers and snowboarders alike.
Snow Summit offers even more thrills than Bear Mountain! Here, you’ll find 27 trails and runs with 18 rideable miles and 11 lifts. The combination of trails and lifts means that you’ll never run out of fun on the slopes here!
Summer Activities
Although Big Bear may be most known for its winter sports, you’ll find outdoor fun here no matter what time of year you choose to visit. The center of Big Bear is Big Bear Lake, and in the summertime, this is the center of all the action! Consider renting or chartering a boat for fun activities like wakeboarding and waterskiing.
