Although St. Patrick’s Day is often spent staying up late and having a few, why not take full advantage of the natural beauty of Big Bear and enjoy the outdoors during the day? Mid-March is still considered ski season in Big Bear, and the slopes here are some of the best that you will find anywhere. Whether you are a pro on the slopes, or it’s your first time on skis, there are trails that can accommodate you. Our rentals in Big Bear are conveniently located near two of the most popular ski resorts in Big Bear: Bear Mountain Ski Resort and Snow Summit. These two sister resorts feature acres of ski terrain that is sure to delight any skier or snowboarder. Big Bear Mountain is the bigger of the two resorts, with over 700 acres of ski area and some of the largest beginner course areas in Big Bear. It also features the tallest ski lift in the area at over 8,800 feet! Drop into Bear Mountain for thrills and fun, no matter what your skill level. Snow Summit, although a bit smaller than Bear Mountain, is still a great destination for both skiing and snowboarding. If you aren’t quite ready to fully hit the slopes, consider heading to the Alpine Slide at Magic Mountain. This is a great place to take your inner tube and slide down the ¼ mile long slide down to the bottom. The best part? No more walking to the top of the hill! They installed a lift to take you to the top, which allows you to simply enjoy the ride.
The Best Bars and Pubs
What could be better than ending a long day out on the slopes with a nice cold drink, especially on St. Patrick’s Day! Big Bear features several bars and pubs that go all out for the holiday and are a perfect place to have a few drinks and have a good time. One of the must-visits for St. Patrick’s Day in Big Bear is Murray’s Saloon & Eatery. This local Irish pub has the atmosphere and the drinks to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day the right way. Serving Big Bear for over 25 years, Murray’s often hosts an annual St. Patrick’s Day block party, with fun activities including contests and entertainment. In addition to the delicious menu, Murray’s features pool tables and does karaoke 7 nights a week. You can’t go wrong spending your night out here! Wyatt’s Grill and Saloon is another local favorite if you are looking for a little entertainment for your St. Patrick’s Day celebration. Here, you’ll be able to listen to live music and enjoy line dancing! Whiskey Dave’s is another local favorite, serving up microbrew and, of course, whiskey. Despite the cold March weather, consider dining or drinking on the outdoor patio that features fire pits to keep you warm.
