Big Bear Lake is a sunny and warm destination when the summer months rolls in, but that doesn’t keep visitors from diving in during the winter months as well. March 2, 2019, Big Bear Lake will welcome guests from near and far in the name of a Polar Plunge that’s held for a great cause. Participants will face the chilly waters in the name of raising funds for the Special Olympics. When the temperatures dip, the Polar Plunge is in full swing at Big Bear Lake.
Polar Plunge participants are invited to come to the event dressed in their most amusing costumes as they race towards the lake in the name of meaningful donations. General participation admission is $50.00 however, those that raise upwards of $50.00 jump into the cold waters at no cost. Non-participants are invited to attend for a fee of $10.00. Options to come and watch while supporting a plunger are always available. Online registration for the event is the easiest route towards getting signed up with same-day registration always available, but a pre-registration party is held annually at The Cave on March 1, 2019, from 6:00 pm until 10:00 pm for those looking to avoid same-day lines.
Beyond the icy waters, participants will have tons of fun activities to choose from in celebration of their chilly feat in the name of a great cause. Once you’ve jumped, be sure to warm up in one of the many hot tubs on-site before making your way to the BBQ lunch. All day raffles, live musical performances and a rock wall for putting further athletic skills to the test make this a fun-filled day for the entire family! When thirst strikes, soda, beer, and wine are all readily available for participants and guest to purchase throughout the day.
There are no rules for how participants enter the water, only that they do! Feel free to run, walk, dance or jump in at will with every dollar paid towards this event going towards the Special Olympics. Come with a team of friends or dive independently at the 2019 Polar Plunge at Big Bear Lake.
